About Peace for Development (PD)
Peace for Development (PD) is a grassroots initiative based in Kakuma Refugee Camp and surrounding host communities. Our mission is to empower youth and children, prevent violence and drug abuse, promote democratic values, and strengthen community reconciliation through inclusive, community-driven approaches.
PD organizes its work under five strategic pillars including youth empowerment, violence prevention, dialogue promotion, community mediation, and advocacy to improve living conditions. We prioritize locally-led, sustainable interventions that strengthen community resilience and social cohesion.
